A wooden buggy.

Bas Vreeswijk made this clean looking buggy. He glued several layers of thin wood (1.5 mm) with epoxy glue in home made moulds. The rear-axle is hollow and has a thread rod inside. I don't know its weigth but I assume more then 20 kg. The joints are made from stainless steel. All wooden elements are painted with several layers of clear lacquer (2-component). Unfortunatly after a few days of cold and wet weather at the dutch coast he was unable to disassemble the buggy (due to the swell of the wood). CORRECTION (13-8-1998): Bas assured me that the wood did not swell but that the bolds/nuts in the joints were tightened to much so the joints squized the wood a little. The side frame beams need some work (removing the sharp edges). Note the nice looking seat.
